- Germany beat Serbia 82-81 in double overtime and moved themselves from 5th to 2nd in the group.
- Houston Rocket Luis Scola had 31 points and 9 rebounds in Argentina's 2-point victory over Australia. Portland Trailblazer Patrick Mills had 21 points, 5 assists and 4 3-pointers for Australia.
Group B
- USA won all 4 quarters in the game against Slovenia and stays undefeated so far.
- Memphis Grizzly Hamed Haddadi started this time and had 27 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 3-pointers in Iran's loss to Croatia. Former Milwaukee Buck Roko Ukić had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, a 3-pointer and no turnovers for Croatia.
Group C
- Washington Wizard Yi Jianlian played well once again in China's win over Ivory Coast. He had 26 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steal, 1 block and no turnovers.
- In Puerto Rico's 3-point loss to Greece, Dallas Maverick J. J. Barea had 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
Group D
- Lithuania came back from 17 points down in the 2nd half and escaped with a 2-point victory over Canada 70-68. Toronto Raptor Linas Kleiza had 18 points, 10 rebounds and 3 3-pointers in the win.
- The defending world champion Spain shot 65% from the field against New Zealand and recorded their first victory in this year's FIBA World Championship. After scoring 37 points in his last game, former NBA player Kirk Penney had 21 points for New Zealand.
